Everyone on my Tumblr dash, PLEASE watch this. Especially if you are a creative artist:

Adobe is going to scrap their hard copies (disks) for their software (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Flash), and have you pay a subscription for the latest software called the Adobe Creative Cloud. $50 per month. Could you really afford such an expense in the long run?

This is really disturbing. Please hear what he has to say, it really is a serious situation for working artists. Pass this along so others may know about the Adobe Creative Cloud and how horrible it is.

Yep… Just went to see how much Flash costs. You know, to just buy the program? Guess what? After spending a while looking, it appears that you CAN’T anymore. You have to pay an outrageous subscription fee. I hate adobe. Is there a petition going around to stop this nonsense? Because I want to sign it.

Thanks! I know a lot of artists and people who like art follow me. You guys should go sign that.

Today I just signed the petition in the voice against the Adobe Creative Cloud. For those who are not familiar with what the new Creative Cloud can do to you as an artist, I really suggest you watch this video.

For those who have seen, reblogged, faved, here’s the link (as shown in the previous reblog) to sign the petition. Anything can happen, Adobe really needs to know that many artists are not supportive of them controlling not just the software..but the content worked on the Cloud.

Having an actual bath (as opposed to a shower) for the first time in years sure was an experience. Also oh man bathing after surgery is a pain in the ass, can I just go into cryogenic preservation for like a month until I can move my arms and not be worried about incisions and drain holes and etc.

The covers have a little indented diamond on the front which is meant to represent a surgical scene. It gives the sense of peeling away skin in an incision to operate because it’s literally layered.

Really simple but pretty dang effective. Still not thrilled about the color choices and etc. But that little diamond makes it cool.

Well I just “got” the cover design for Vertical’s Black Jack books and why it’s so neat and damn do I feel like a fool.

It’s because Yahoo has this reallllllly poor business model of acquiring sites that are doing well and then driving them into the ground. Basically they try to change the site and its features to benefit Yahoo more than the original site itself, which doesn’t really benefit Yahoo’s (nonexistent) userbase and causes problems for the userbase of the original site. Since their email and probbbbbably their news are the only things they’ve got going for them, Yahoo might change tumblr so that it’s connected to those things to some extent, more likely the email than the news.

In this situation people who use Yahoo might check out tumblr casually, might create an account and use it for a while and let it sit. I don’t know about Yahoo’s demographics but my guess is that it’s mostly middle-aged people or folks who aren’t big on social networking, internet culture (I’m being 100% serious when I say culture btw, the internet DOES have one and it’s fledgling and confused but there nonetheless). Tumblr, on the other hand, has people who are just the opposite—younger, mostly driven by original content that later spurs iterations and parodies of said content to be created (AKA memes because let’s face it tumblr does a LOT of memes).

So Yahoo comes in and all these new users join with no understanding of the atmosphere, and who don’t use it as tumblr “”should”” be used. This pisses people off and users leave. Yahoo would most definitely introduce more invasive ads which would also piss people off a LOT.

Now if Yahoo acquires it and doesn’t do much with it, that’d be OK. But based on their track record they tend to fuck things up so that’s why people are mad and wary about it.
